Art studios on Fogo Island

In 2001, native Newfoundlander Zita Cobb devised a master plan for an artists’ residency program on Fogo Island, about 12 miles northeast of the island of Newfoundland. As part of that plan, architect Todd Saunders, who was born in Newfoundland and worked in Norway since 1996, was commissioned to build six studios scattered across the island for artists and writers in residency.
